A Clarkson man was sentenced to two years in prison after he pleaded guilty to the charge of receiving stolen property, July 15.
According to court records, Jacob Logsdon, 23, of Bethel Church Road was arrested after Grayson County Sheriff Rick Clemons is the man that solved the crime that was over a year old.
Clemons had received information that Logsdon had some stolen four-wheelers and went to the property and found an ATV that had been reported stolen in January 2007 from J.C. Dorsey.
The red Honda four-wheeler was identified by the VIN number and by some markings that Dorsey had engraved on it.
“We were given permission to search the property by the owner,” said Sheriff’s Detective Terry Blanton. “We found the ATV and had Jacob come into the office the next morning.”
Logsdon was arrested and charged with receiving stolen property over $300 and obscuring the identify of a machine.
“He changed the markings on the 4-wheeler and we were able to charge him with obscuring the identity of a machine,” said Blanton.
Logsdon was pled guilty to the charges of receiving stolen property valued at more than $300 and obscuring the identity of a machine valued at more than $300.
He was sentenced to two years under the department of corrections for each count and these sentences shall run concurrent for a total of two years.
