The city council showed a loss in revenue of $607,105 for the fiscal year ending on March 31 of this year.

City Clerk and Treasurer Erin Embry said the net loss is 35% of the net loss for the entire fiscal year, which ended on June 30.

Embry explained if construction expenses for the Ronald H. Hudson Fire House were excluded the city would have shown a net gain of $454,422.

Total expenditures for the city excluding construction expenses for the new firehouse (located off of Highway 259 North), was $3,537,337.

Other items covered during the July 7 Leitchfield City Council meeting were:

•Council members approved a contract through Lincoln Trail Health Department for Hepatitis B inoculations for city employees.

City Attorney Kenneth Smart said the series of three preventative shots would be $30 per injection. The first visit charge would be $39 and visits there after are $21.

Smart explained that employees who need the shot are ones who could come in contact with some kind of bodily fluids.

•The city will start installing lighting for the William H. Thomason byway soon.

Public Works Director Darrell Harrell said the lighting pedestals are in, and that crewmembers will start working on installing the lights just as soon as the sidewalks are completed.
