Jack Roger Woosley, age 87, of Caneyville, Ky., died Wednesday, May 28, 2008 at the Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center in Leitchfield.

He was born June 6, 1920 in Grayson County, the son of Allie and Ida Minton Woosley. He was retired from Leggett & Platt, and a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Cuba Woosley.

He is survived by one son, Hillard (Margaret) Woosley of Caneyville; one brother, Barney Woosley of Leitchfield; three sisters, Nina Woosley of Caneyville, Aliene Stewart of Millwood, Ky., and Elnora Embry of Butler County, Ky., Also surviving: one granddaughter, Lisa (Dwayne) Woosley, and one grandson, Scott (Cheri) Woosley, both of Caneyville; and five great-grandchildren, Jameson, Hillary, Sara, Rachael, and Samantha Woosley.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Friday, May 30, 2008 at the Dermitt Funeral Home, in Caneyville, with Bro. Gary Woosley officiating.

Burial will be the Layman Memorial Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Dermitt Funeral Home, in Caneyville, from 3-9 p.m. Thursday, and after 9 a.m. Friday until time of service.
