Former Transylvania head basketball coach Don Lane will continue the tradition of his legendary basketball camps this summer.

The guard/perimeter/post camps will be held at Lindsey Wilson College, in Columbia.

After retiring as Transylvania’s all-time winningest coach, Lane has continued to be involved in basketball across the nation, serving as a consultant to various college teams, running camps and clinics and being a featured speaker.

His camps are designed for players who wish to improve their individual skills at their position. The individual and specialty camps are for both guard/perimeter players and for post players.

All skill levels are invited to attend. Skill development, especially shooting, passing, post play and ball-handling will be emphasized, along with learning how to be a team leader.

Both the overnight and day camps match boys and girls with other youngsters of similar size and ability.

This year’s camps will be held on the following dates:

Girls Guard/Perimeter/Post Specialty Camp, ages 8-18, June 29 - July 1.

Boys Guard/Perimeter/Post Specialty Camp, ages 8-18. July 1-3.

Lane, a member of the Kentucky and NAIA Athletic Halls of Fame, has successfully run one of the largest and most informative basketball camps in the nation.

Starting in 1976, his camp has dramatically grown to a level where there are now over 45,000 campers that have completed his program.

Individual instruction, attention to detail, an extremely positive learning environment, and a genuine love for kids are the reasons Don Lane Basketball Camps continue to attract numerous campers each summer.

For more information on the camps, you can access the camp web site at www.coachlane.net, call 859-576-1391 or 859-224-0100, or e-mail him at dlane@transy.edu.
