A Foster’s Propane truck dropped off the side of the road and overturned on Peonia road, Saturday, April 12.
According to a Grayson County Sheriff’s report, Jerry Webb, 54, was traveling east on Peonia Road, around 12:20 p.m., when the 1998 Ford truck dropped off the right shoulder of the road.
Webb reported that he traveled the ditch line for several feet to try to compensate for the shift in weight.
The transfer of weight from the propane caused the truck to overcorrect as he applied the brakes. The weight of the propane shifted and the truck slid from the eastbound lane into the westbound lane and overturned, reported Sheriff’s Deputy Robert Jackson.
The propane truck then slid on its right side for several more yards and came to a final rest facing northwest.
The driver was able to remove his seat belt and with the assistance of a passerby exited the driver’s side of the truck, added Jackson.
The Grayson County Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene but Webb refused transport and was later taken to Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center by his wife.
There were no reports of propane leaking into the ditch on on the road.
