Windows have been broken out of three businesses and an automobile in Caneyville in the last three months.
A cement block was thrown through the window of the old hardware store on January 9, nothing was taken and except for the broken window there was no other damage, reported Clarkson Police Chief Anthony Clark.
Four days later a cement block was again thrown through the window of the Archie Woosley Building breaking a window. Again nothing was taken.
About three weeks ago an automobile window was smashed. A cell phone and several other items were removed from the car, said Clark.
The fourth incident occured last Saturday night around 2 a.m. when at least one individual tried to break into Midway Pharmacy in Caneyville by throwing a cement block through the glass door.
The perpetrator found the pharmacy door was shatter proof glass and did not gain entry into the drug store.
The suspect was caught on video, reported Clark. The video showed the suspect throwing the block and exiting north. The incident is still being investigated by the Grayson County Sheriff's department as well as the Caneyville Police.
The commission agreed in the meeting on Monday night to offer a $500 reward for information leading to the arrest of the individuals involved in this.
In other business the commission resended a contract do some electrical repairs on the city's lift station that Adams Electric had received during the February meeting.
When the bid was retotaled the commission found there was an error that was a difference of almost $1,500 and Adams Electric was no longer the low bidder on the contract.
Parrigan Electric was awarded the contract with a bid of $9,520.
The commission agreed participate in the Clothesline of Quilts. This program is a statewide program that decorates the side of a building with a quilt pattern as part of the Tourism Commission of the State of Kentucky.
This quilt pattern will make Caneyville one of many stops in the sate where these will be displayed.
