The hospital hosted a Healthy Heart Expo on February 27 at the Centre on Main, allowing county residents to participate in free health screenings.
With over 140 area residents participating TLRMC was able to inform people on ways to take better care of their heart.
Health screenings included blood pressure checks, glucose checks and a carotid artery ultrasound. A brief CPR demonstration was also offered.
Guests were able to enjoy lunch and listen to guest speakers Dr. Jennifer Camas and Dr. John Kenny talk about the true and false statements concerning a person's heart.
Director of Planning and Marketing Bill Oldham said, “TLRMC is already talking about how to make the event even better in the future.”
Embry's Bike Division owners Rick and Joyce Embry attended the event. Joyce Embry talked about how much they learned from the expo.
“They had a good crowd and it was well organized,” says Embry. “The lines went quickly. A lot of people do not go to the doctor for things like this, but felt comfortable getting checked out there.”
