The 2008 Relay for Life kick off event is scheduled for March 4 at 6:30 p.m. at the Centre on Main in Leitchfield.
The purpose of the event is to educate the community about what the Relay for Life is, and to motivate previous participants to be involved in another year.
Light refreshments will be served and door prizes will be given. Everyone is invited to attend.
Any team that would like to take advantage of the $50 ‘Early Bird' registration fee will need to bring it that night and register their team. (After the night of Kick-Off, the registration fee would be raised to $75.)
There will be a guest speaker to discuss cancer awareness. A candlelight ceremony will also be held to honor those who have survived cancer, and to remember those who have lost their lives to the disease.
