One Grayson County business found a way to help the tornado victims from the recent storms that pummeled neighboring counties.

Sandy Kiper from Rocky-K Log Homes & Construction, LLC and her secretary were discussing the tornado victims and wondered how they could help.

The two women decided to take things into their own hand and made a few phone calls. After speaking to a Red Cross representative they found a way to help.

“A Red Cross representative shared with us that they were in dire need of funds for temporary housing needs (as well as funds later to help folks reestablish),” said Kiper.

“She suggested that if we wanted to be a collection point for monetary donations it would be a great help, and they would send someone after the items.

“I already have some donations from folks we know, but with other donations from Grayson County residents added in, it would be neat to send one larger collection amount period to pick these up or we could deliver to them.”

all at once,” added Kiper. “We would be glad to be a drop off point and if need be, Dena and I could even go to the businesses to collect the donation if that makes it easier.”

Someone will be at the Rocky K Model Home at 2244 Lilac Road to receive donations Monday through Friday from 9 am --5 pm. They will accept donations until Saturday, February 16 at 1 p.m.

You may call 259-5972 or e-mail rockyklog@windstream.net if you'd prefer someone pick up your donation to this effort
