Betty Jewell Peters, age 68, of Leitchfield, died Wednesday, February 6, 2008 at the Grayson Manor Nursing Home.

She was born February 14, 1939 in Muhlenberg County, Ky., the daughter of Robert James and Edna May Basham King.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Vernon Peters; her father, Robert; one son, James; one brother, Bobby; one grandchild and one great-grandchild.

She is survived by her mother, Edna May King of MO; four daughters, Wanda Langley, Susan Onley and Patricia Kendall, all of Leitchfield, and Mary Belmond of Dover, DE; one brother, James King of MO; one sister, Dorothy Harper of MO; 20 grandchildren, and 28 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, February 9, 2008 at the Dermitt Funeral Home, in Leitchfield, with Bro. Russell Seibert and Bro. Billy Mason officiating.

Burial will be in the Kefauver Cemetery.

Mary M. Duvall

Mary M. Duvall, age 74, died Friday, February 1, 2008 at Baptist Hospital NE in Louisville, Ky.

She was born in Clarkson, Ky., and was a retired lab technician for the old Dairyman Inc. She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church.

She was the former Mary Davis, and she was preceded in death by her husband, Kermit Duvall; and her brothers, Billy, Dave and John Davis.

She is survived by two sons, Phil Duvall Sr. (Lou Ann Cecil) and Patrick Duvall; two brothers, James L. and Thomas Davis; one sister, Louise Durbin; five grandchildren, Phil Jr., Suzanne, Brandy, Mackenzie and Melissa, and six great-grandchildren.

Funeral Mass was held Monday, February 4, 2008 at St. John Evangelist Catholic Church in Sunfish, Ky.

Burial was in the church cemetery.

Highlands Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
