A Breckinridge County woman had the first baby born of 2008 at Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center in Leitchfield.

Hardinsburg resident Heather Armes delivered a 6 lb, 10 oz. baby boy, Randall Brent Carman, on January 1 at 2:47 p.m. Dr. Gary Yochim was the attending physician.

Local merchants donated gifts to the new mother and her child. Those who participated were Curves, Houchens, Pine View Nursery, Big O Tires, Leitchfield Deposit Bank, Cash a Check, Sew Much More Sewing Center (Clarkson), and Creta Merideth.

Director of Planning and Marketing Bill Oldham said items were donated in honor of the baby being the first born in the New Year for the hospital.

“Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center would like to thank everyone for their donations,” said Oldham.

The hospital offers a number of preparatory classes for new mothers, nutrition, CPR, feeding, and also exercises to help a mother deal with labor.

Individuals can contact OB Supervisor Bonnie Embrey at 270-259-9561 or by email at brembrey@tlrmc.com for more information on OB services.
