Two Grayson County residents were arrested early Monday morning and charged with kidnapping.
On October 15th, the FBI office in Louisville contacted the Kentucky State Police to say that Jeffrey Gillenwater, from Hardin County, had reported his 16-year-old daughter was kidnapped.
Further investigation revealed the juvenile had been allowed to stay in Grayson County with friends of the family, Raymon and Catherine Bertram.
Gillenwater was to have picked up his daughter from the Bertrams on Saturday but was informed the teen was not going to be returned.
According to the state police report the juvenile had made allegations and the Bertrams were not returning the girl.
The report went on to say Bertram also made threats to Gillenwater that if the police were called he would never see his daughter again.
State troopers arrested Raymon Bertram on Main Street in Leitchfield at 9 a.m. and Catherine Bertram was located 45 minutes later at Laurel Branch Campgrounds, in Breckinridge County.
The teen was located unharmed and returned to her family. The allegations made by the girl are currently being investigated.
Both Bertrams were charged with kidnapping a minor and were lodged in Grayson County Detention Center.
At 4:45 p.m. on Monday, the Bertrams were each released from custody on a $2,500 unsecured bond.
