Clarkson native Robert Vincent has been appointed as the new commissioner for the city. Vincent will fill the previous vacancy left open by Tom Livergood.

Vincent and his wife live on Millerstown Road. They purchased the home of Arville Dunn.

Dunn was mayor for the city of Clarkson for sometime. Vincent works in the office at Core Mark in Leitchfield.

Clarkson Mayor Bonnie Henderson announced the change during the October meeting of the city council. “Robert will be contacted immediately by myself,” said Henderson. “He will be sworn in before the next meeting in November.”

City Commissioner Keith Higdon was the only one contacted by someone for the open vacancy.

“Myself, Kay Gibson, and Neil Harrison talked to people about the position,” explained Henderson. “Everyone said they were more than willing to accept the duties of the new role.”

The council deliberated in executive session before coming to a decision on appointed Vincent.

Other items discussed during the October 8 meeting are detailed below.
