According to a state police report, Timothy Higdon, 21 of Big Clifty and Samantha Higdon, 24, also of Big Clifty were both arrested on September 25, around 11:55 p.m. after the state police received a complaint of child endangerment.
“We received a report that two kids might be involved in some drug activity,” stated Kentucky State Trooper Norman Chafins.
Upon arrival at the scene the troopers located a methamphetamine lab, one ounce of methamphetamine, and marijuana in the home.
A search warrant was obtained for the remainder of the residence. Marijuana and several pills were located.
Two marijuana roaches were found in a diaper bag belonging to Samantha Higdon, reported Chafins.
An 18-month-old boy and a two-year-old girl were both present at the residence. The maternal grandmother took custody of the two children, added Chafins.
Timothy Higdon was charged with first offense prescription controlled substance not in proper container and was released from the Grayson County Detention Center on September 27 on a $1,000 cash bond.
Samantha Higdon was charged with possession of marijuana and first offense prescription controlled substance not in proper container and was released from the Grayson County Detention Center on September 27 on a $1000 cash bond.
The investigation is ongoing and more charges are pending , reported Chafins.
The methamphetamine charges will be presented to the Grayson County Grand Jury.
KSP DESI West Division along with KSP Post Four troopers cleaned up and removed toxic substances from the residence.
KSP officers were on the scene until 4:45 p.m.
