According to Grayson County Sheriff Detective Terry Blanton, on Friday September 14th around 4 a.m. the Midway Pharmacy in Clarkson was broken into. The drug store reported nothing stolen.
A truck that was stolen from 305 East Main Street in Clarkson is believed to have been used in the crime.
The tailgate to the truck was found in the parking lot of the pharmacy, reported Blanton.
The truck with the missing tailgate was recovered Friday morning on Nelson Road, said Clarkson Police Chief Jeff King. Evidence linking it to the Clarkson break-in were found near the stolen vehicle.
The perpetrators gained access to the pharmacy through the backdoor after tearing the metal bar off the door and breaking several bricks out of the wall, said King. A window was also broken.
In a similar incident, the Prescription Shop in Brownsville was burglarized during the early hours of Saturday, September 8th.
The Edmonson County pharmacy reported several bottle of pills stolen as well as some liquid cough syrup with codeine, reported Brownsville City Police Officer Stoney Phillips.
A car found on Hickory Flats Road in Grayson County is suspected to have been used in the robbery of the Brownsville Pharmacy, explained the Clarkson police chief.
This same pharmacy was hit a second time on September 17th but after viewing the video Brownsville police suspect the incident had nothing to do with the other crimes.
The perpetrator of the September 17th break-in was caught on tape entering the pharmacy from a roof vent and gaining access through the attic crawl space into the bathroom. Phillips said when he came out of the bathroom he set off the alarm and got startled.
The video shows him turning around and trying to get out the way he came in. The perpetrator then fell through the ceiling and is shown dangling as he made his escape.
Phillips reported the third burglary is believed to have nothing to do with either the break-in on September 9th or the break-in of the Clarkson Pharmacy.
The suspects of the earlier break-in entered the building through the front door after breaking the chains on the door and seemed to know exactly what they were doing, said Phillips. They were in and out in less than two minutes.
No arrests have been made and according to Blanton, the investigation is still ongoing. The Clarkson police chief as well as Brownsville city police are working closely with the Grayson County Sheriff's Department to solve these crimes.
Anyone with any information on these crimes is asked to call Detective Blanton at the Grayson County Sheriff's Department at 270-259-3024. Callers may remain anonymous and all information may be kept confidential.
