Police continue to probe drowning of Clarkson woman

Victim died after seven days at Louisville hospital

Police are investigating the death of a Clarkson woman who was found floating in the family swimming pool two weeks ago.

Brenda Story, 49, of 126 Stanton Street in Clarkson, was found by her husband Michael on Friday, August 24 around 4 p.m.. She died August 31 at 10:50 a.m. at the University of Louisville Hospital.

Although emergency officials managed to revive Story at Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center, she later slipped into a coma.

Kentucky State Police Detective Jeremy Mabe said the death investigation is still open.

He said an autopsy was performed on Story over the past weekend.

“Results are pending further analysis,” explained Mabe. “A toxicology analysis is being performed by the Louisville Medical Examiner's office.”
