She was born June 3, 1919 in Adair County, Ky., the daughter of Clem P. and Bertha Hamilton Coomer. She was a housewife, and a member of the Short Creek Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William L. Allen Sr.; and five brothers and two sisters.
She is survived by one son, William L. (Alice) Allen Jr. of Bowling Green, Ky.; two granddaughters, Natalie and Lauren Allen; and one sister, Elizabeth Moss of Glasgow.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, August 22, 2007 at the Dermitt Funeral Home, in Caneyville, with Bro. DaWayne Capps officiating.
Burial was in the Allen Cemetery.
