On August 7, Shawn Cox, 26 of Millerstown Road Clarkson, was found guilty of first degree rape after a one-day trial that ended June 15 in Grayson Circuit Court.
He was arrested August 6, 2005, after the Grayson County Sheriff's department received a rape complaint.
According to Sheriff's Deputy Matt Darst he was dispatched to the hospital about 11 p.m. on August 5th after a 17-year-old female reported she had been raped just outside the city limits of Clarkson.
The victim told police she and Cox had been at a mutual friend's home when he offered her a ride home, Darst said.
Cox then asked if she minded if he stopped at his home on Millerstown Road to pick up some CDs and other things.
The report said once inside the house Cox came up behind the victim, tore off some clothing and pushed her down while she tried to fight him off.
After being presented with the evidence, the jury found Cox guilty of first degree rape.
After Cox serves his 15-year sentence, he will be on probation for five years.
