Clarkson council turns street one way

Spring Street in Clarkson will now have part of the street being enforced as only one-way traffic. Clarkson City Council members voted to re-establish the section from the red light to Short Street one-way.

They said the reason for the concern is citizens merging into the intersection leads to a potential hazard with oncoming vehicles. The other half of the road will continue to be two-way traffic.

Clarkson Mayor Bonnie Henderson said this will help with better traffic flow through the area. The first reading of the new ordinance was agreed upon by the council this past Monday night, July 9.

The second reading of the ordinance will be at the next meeting. This will signify final approval of the change. Other items of business discussed at the Clarkson City County meeting are listed below.
