We as people pursue onward with our simple tasks and goals to seek what makes us most happy. I personally believe to follow your dreams and do not let anyone stand in your way.
It makes me sick to my stomach to think of people out there belittling others to make themselves feel better.
You know what, if you are not happy in your life or your work fix it and make things better. Don't dwell on the negative things that only hardens one's spirit and soul, it is not worth it.
I have been searching my entire life to find something that makes me happy. Guess what, I truly believe that I have found that in writing.
Yeah, I may not be the best writer, but so what. Nobody is perfect, but we can try to be the best we can be at whatever we may choose to do. Who wants to come into work everyday knowing they are going to have to put up with scrutiny and tyranny.
In recent weeks my colleague Theresa Dunn and myself have received a significant amount of flack over columns and stories we've written. While I understand the stories we write may upset some people for various reasons, I really don't understand why people would take such issue with our opinions. After all, it's their opinion how they feel about our opinions. While I may not agree with them, it's still their opinion.
Freedom of speech is a precious commodity and many an American has died to protect this freedom. But with that freedom comes a responsibility to use it wisely and not in such a way to hurt other people.
I suppose what irritates me is that quite often people tend to pick on other people to make themselves feel better. I personally think it is childish and petty. So what if you are having a bad day, get over it. It does not accomplish anything by making others feel bad as well. Let's face it, some people are just naturals at what they do.
I myself have never been a natural at anything. I have had to work very hard for anything I have ever wanted. Who cares if you have a degree in something that sounds really fancy. The same person may come in with street credit and will do just as good a job. Don't get me wrong, a college degree is very impressive, but don't throw it in someone's face. I personally believe hard work and dedication will do just fine as far as I am concerned when work is involved.
I just wonder if some people have ever heard of constructive criticism? People are going to make mistakes. If they do, tell them in a productive manner on how to improve what they have done incorrectly. Who has ever heard of someone learning anything from a person who talks down to you and explains nothing in return?
Heaven knows I have done this same thing to people in the past. The thing is I feel bad about what I have done and repent for it.
Can all of you say that? If you can then I thank you for your thoughts of remorse for wrong doings. But lets face it, how many of us have actually gone back to that said person and said we were sorry? It is such a simple five letter word.
Well if it is so easy, how come it is so hard to express that specific word to the ones we care about?
We might as well face it, negative comments are going to face us every day of our lives. The main thing is to find enough strength inside of you to proceed. That which does not kill us only makes us stronger.
Like I have said before you may not be the smartest Cracker Jack in the box, but you can still be the hardest working.
Just remember the next time someone tells you that you are not good enough, it's only one person's opinion.
They have a right to say what they want to, but it doesn't mean you have to listen to it.
