Grayson County trailed 3-0 and 4-1 before taking the lead for good by scoring five times in a fifth inning that included a grand slam home run by Sean Embry.
The Pumas used four pitchers on the day. Incoming senior Jordan White, who had been named to the Kentucky East-West All-Star squad earlier in the week, pitched the first two innings, giving up two runs on three hits. Tristan Willis followed and pitched two innings, allowing two runs, one of them unearned.
Michael McCubbin pitched the fifth and sixth innings, giving up no hits, but allowing a run on a walk and three straight wild pitches. Mike Scott closed things out for the Pumas in the seventh, walking the lead off batter but then retiring the side on a force out and a double-play ground ball.
Control problems plagued White in the first inning as North Hardin jumped ahead 2-0. White walked leadoff hitter Desmond Gordon, who was then sacrificed to second base. A wild pitch sent Gordon to third, from where he scored on a passed ball.
