He was born on August 26, 1929 in Grayson County, the son of Otis and Maymie Payton Embry. He was a carpenter, a U.S. Army veteran, member of the V.F.W. and American Legion.
He is survived by his wife, Gearldine Embry of Caneyville; three daughters, Ann (Pete) Gallahue of Louisville, Ky., Cathy Spencer of Caneyville, Patricia (Billy) Monroe of Crestwood, Ky.; three sons, Roger (Pat) Embry of Caneyville, Freddie Embry of Caneyville and Timmy Embry of Horse Branch, Ky.; 15 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, June 6, 2007 at 11 a.m. at the Dermitt Funeral Home, in Caneyville, with Bro. Buddy Swift officiating.
Burial was in the Antioch Cemetery.
