Richard Dugan: “Come-on... come-on, they were coming up there to take every child out of that town.”
News-Gazette Reporter Theresa Dunn: “How many kids do you have up there?”
R.D.:“I'm not telling you... Im not telling you.”
T.D..: “Ok, you don't have ot tell me.”
R.D.: I'm not telling you.”
R.D.: “They have a right to be protected from the people... I' m doing... taking care of people... I'm doing, I' m doing what they won't and refuse to do for their people...
We are American Citizens, our Senators and Congressmen will not intervene... Tom Goff... you know what they did ... tell you how unjust they are. Just recently we had a member there who falsely accused and they found out he falsely accused... he falsely accused they found out he falsely accused, right... and our lawyer can tell you, he knows it now... he had a complaint against another member up there, but Tom was going to get a warrant against me... for my arrest... you know why... because I am the leader up there... Well if that's true then... if that's true then... if someone commits a criminal act in this town they should go after the mayor... they should go after the mayor cause he is the leader...
R.D.: “You know why... cause he is the leader.... if someone commits a crime in this county then they should go... after the... go after the county judge cause he is the leader. How is that justified... how is that justified... he was going to get a warrant for my arrest because somebody else was accused of doing something else wrong... cause i'm the leader... Tom Goff is a hypocrite... he hates us and wants us out... they want to try to get rid of us... that's what this whole thing is .. they don't want us in this town... they never did... they are doing everything in their power.... they are destroying our church and our town and are trying to destroy our beliefs...”
R.D.: “I have a right to protest... I have a right to be here as executive administrator of a town they called me in here... I'm here... I' m here to face them but oh no, no... no... no .. They are going to hear the truth they are going to hear the truth... these people committed criminal acts... terrorizing and terroristic threatening a whole community how is that going to protect those girls... we didn't hold guns to their heads... we did not bond them up and tie them up.”
LeVita Member Myrtle Temple: “When they came up there they ( the Three teenager and the baby) were in the custody of their grandmother... and the grandmother wanted them there.”
R.D.: “The grandmother... she did everything... she brought them up there because she it was to dangerous out there for them and she was worried about them, out there and she knew it was safe... we had the safest community until the police came up there... you know I had my brother for 24 years... I had my brother for 24 years and never once did I have to rush him to the hospital for, for, for and never once did I have to rush him to the hospital for for a medical illness or injury ...until they did it to him... and I couldn't even do that ... they had to do that... the congregation had to rush him to the hospital because they beat him... he is still suffering from it...”
M.T.: “He goes to physical therapy for it.”
R.D.: “Can i tell you something for it... he use to love cop shows... now he won't watch it and he's ascared of um... any time he sees a cop he starts crying and running ..let me tell you something... they petrified him over this whole thing he can't hardly lift his arms... he's taking three three... I got him back... because I tried to tell them my sister could not handle him”
T.D.: “Do you have copies of his medical records where they? Is there verification they did something to him?”
R. D.:- “Yes, yes they took him to the hospital here at Twin Lakes that night.”
M.T.: “We got pictures too... we took.”
R. D.: “January, the January... I got a head ache.”
M.T.: “Calm down.”
T.D.: “I don't mean to up set you.”
R.D. : “No... I know... I know.”
T.D..: “But You are wanting to tell me a story and I need to hear if from you.”
R.D.: ”Yes, I told you... I know, I know... I can't think straight right.”
T.D..: “Ok.”
R.D.: “I'm... I'm... I'm.”
T.D..: “There is a possibility the grand jury will not indict you.”
R.D.: “I don't care... That is not the point... THESE BASTARDS... are going to get away with it and sweep it under the rug... “
T.D..: “Ok.”
R.D.: "These police that did this and the social worker... social worker... social worker... is going to get away with a criminal act... they are get away it... it.”
M.T.: “He is not upset with you, hun.”
R.D.: “I' m not upset with u, hon... I' m not upset with you .. but they are going to get away doing criminal...
M.T.: “Worse acts then they are accusing him of.”
R.D.: “Worse acts than they are accusing me of. They did not have a court order when they came up there that day... They did not have a social worker with them... I DID MY DUTY... I DID MY DUTY... I did not have to turn them over to them and, and, and I waited for them to show a court order and they never did and I looked for a social worker... . When they came up there and finally got them, there still was no social worker... that's the law... they're just suppose to have a social worker with them because they did not see imminent danger... only if they see imminent danger... I looked it up...”
M.T.: “They still did not have the original court order .”
R.D.: “AND they still... they didn't have the original court order... they made another one up ... with my name on it... wait a minute... They recognized me then.... they recognized me then as the leader... as the government leader... they recognized me then... protocol...”
M.T.: “Town of LeVita, executive administrator, Richard L. Dugan.”
R.D.: “Town of LeVita Richard L. Dugan... How come they did not recognize me all these other ... when they arrested me that night... That's... Let me tell you... when he pointed that gun at me and said he would shoot me... shoot me... Then they committed another federal offense..., You know what that is... attempted assignation of a government leader... That's what that is... he apologized to me when we got in the car... that police officer... and said this got out of control... we should have never gone this far... he did apologize to me.”
T.D.: ”How many days were you in jail.”
R.D.: “I don't remember.”
M.T.: “Nine and two days in the hospital.”
R.D.: “But the thing is... the thing is... they locked me back up and kept holding me for ransom for rights and then held me for ransom to release my brother... that's illegal... that's a criminal act... come-on.... and they think I am going... i'm suppose to take this.... I'm suppose to take this kind of abuse and this kind of criminal activity from them... they have no right to treat their citizens... we're telling our soldiers over, over in Irac and Afagastain and other countries... telling them not to do these things to their citizens and were doing it to them to ourself.”
T.D.: “Ok I'm getting ready to run out of tape here, ok. I know you said a whole lot of things and I completely understand why you are sitting here.”
R.D.: “I didn't do anything wrong I did my duty and I'm doing my duty now. But I want the people, the public to know what happened... I want them to judge, it not the, these people... I don't stand a chance here... cause of who we are... they don't...all the lies and rumors going around are unfounded.”
T.D.: “You do realize that even though you are indicted you still get a chance to go before the jury and that's where you will either be convicted or be said innocent. The indictment only means that, yes, there is enough evidence to go to a jury.”
R.D.: “I have enough evidence against them to... we tried to get a warrant against them... but oh you can't do it... when can a police officer break the law and say he is up holding the law... when can a social worker do whatever she wants and they back her up and they... even though... they don't question her.... what are they robots... They did not even bother to question....what a minute let's find out what happened. We would have told them.”
R.D.: “The grandmother did the right thing by bringing them up here... the girl got pregnant ... 14 years old ...by a 19- year old man... he was sitting in the car that night. They didn't do anything to him... do you know... do you know that we found out ... even three weeks later... even three weeks later they never took them to the doctor... if they were in such bad health .. instead they said that night at court... they took them on a shopping spree... come on, if they were in that bad of health then what were they doing at E-town on a shopping spree at Wal- Mart ... but they never intended to bring them back... even if they were found in good health.... but they can't prove that now because they never took them to the doctors
R.D.: “The baby .... was in daycare and still hadn't had his shots and we were getting ready to take him to the doctor to get his shots... that's illegal .. they are not allowed to submit an infant in daycare without having all his shots... but they put it in there and still hadn't had all his shots... hadn't had all his shots.”
R.D.: “Look... Look... I have a right to protest ..... I have the right to be here.... I have right to let people know because this is going to happen more and more.... do you realize if they sweep this under the table ... do you realize if i am indicted and convicted that's what they want... and if not then nothing is going to be done to the ones who did this we don't have the money to sue them.”
R.D.: “We are struggling up there without electric because our generator went out.... I can't say much more.”
T.D.: “Would you object if I took a picture... you don't have to get out of the car.”
R.D.: “I'm not getting out of this car.”
