Five people were indicted by the most recent of the Grayson County Grand Jury.

The most serious indictment was against Donna A Choate of 606 Lone Oak Road, Clarkson.

Choate was indicted on possession of a controlled substance in the first degree (cocaine); possession of drug paraphernalia, operating a motor vehicle while under the influence; (aggravated circumstances), first offense; prescription for a controlled substance not in original container, first offense; failure of owner to maintain required insurance; no or expired Kentucky registration receipt; and reckless driving.

All these charges carry a maximum sentence, if convicted, of about eight years in prison.

Other indictments include:

Billy Wayne Carter, 1605 Kiper Road. Leitchfield was among the other indictments. He was charges and indicted with bail jumping and persistent felony offender in the first degree.

Also charged with bail jumping was Brian Damon, 702 S. Madison, Bloomington, Ill.

Ike Burden, 1167 Meredith Ridge Road, Leitchfield, was indicted for flagrant non support for failing to provide child support for his his minor child.

Melissa Logsdon, 275 Jaggers Page Road, Mammoth Cave was also indicted for flagrant non support by failing to provide support for her two minor children.

(Editor's Note: An indictment is not a verdict. It means the grand jury feels there is enough evidence to warrant a trial.)
