Caneyville notes sewer rehab work

The Caneyville Commission Monday (4/ 9) opened with the announcement of the engineering company that is handling the North Kentucky Hyw 79 Sewer project name change.

Entron PLC is handling the three phases of the sewer project, with the first phase almost complete. The North Kentucky Hwy 79 Sewer Project is complete and workable except the pump station. The pump station is not working yet and Horsley Construction is to notify Entron when it is complete.

The second phase is the Manhole Rehabilitation Project. A report covering 44 manhole covers that are in need of repair or replacement was submitted for the commission's review.

The third phase is the rehabilitation of the main lift center of the Waste Water Treatment Phase.

The commission hopes to have a draft of bid documents and advertise for a bid by the May meeting.

A committee was assembled to work on plans for the new city hall. The members of the committee are: Brenda Brown, Debbie Duke, Anthony Clark, Avery Fleener and James Paul Embry.

A laptop computer was purchased for the City Police/Fire departments with the Area Development District monies. The laptop is currently not connecting to the network but it is hoped that it will be connected soon.

It was announced that collections for Crusade for Children will be the first weekend in June.

Also announced was the rate increase of cable and high speed internet rates by Mediacom.The cable and high speed internet rates for Family Cable will rise from $47.95 a month to $50.95 a month.
