He was born January 23, 1932 in Grayson County, Ky., the son of Stanley and Flora (Swift) Lee. He was an active member of Glenville Baptist Church. He served in the Army during the Korean War as a corporal. He retired from TVA in 1994. He was a journeyman plumber, and a member of the Plumbers Local 633. He did mission work in Biloxi, MS, Belize, Central America and Eastern Kentucky.
He is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Mary “Bopey” Troutman Lee; his mother, Flora Lee of Owensboro, Ky.; one son, Bruce (Jackie) Lee of Utica, KY; five daughters, Judy (Joe) Fowler of Georgetown, KY, and Debbie (James “Mo”) Hardesty, Sheila (the late Jeff Stein) Stein, Dale Ann Dent, Amy (Jerry) Glahn, all of Owensboro; two brothers, Foster (Pam) Lee and Bobby (Patsy) Lee of Owensboro; two sisters, Diane (Farrell) Pendley and Betty (the late Thomas Crabtree) Crabtree of Owensboro. Also surviving are 15 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild; sister-in-laws, Ann Troutman Haywood, Etha Mae Troutman, and Joyce Aldridge Lee; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father; one brother, Tommy Lee; and his great-granddaughter, Elizabeth Falloway.
Funeral services were held Thursday, March 1, 2007 at Glenville Baptist Church.
Burial was in the Glenville Baptist Church Cemetery.
James H. Davis Funeral Home in Owensboro was in charge of the arrangements.
