Ova Doyle Haycraft, age 86, of Leitchfield, died Friday, January 5, 2007 in Madisonville, Ky.

He was born May 12, 1920 in Grayson County, Ky., the son of Ralph and Jannie Hayse Haycraft. He was retired from the United States Army and the United States Air Force. He was a veteran of World War II and the Korean Wax. While serving his country he was awarded two Purple Hearts along with many other medals of honor.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Adis Decker Haycraft; and one daughter, Juanita “Puddin” Haycraft.

He is survived by one son, Dennis (Terri) Haycraft; one daughter, Donna Haycraft; two sisters, Jeanette Bishop and Imogene Raymer. Also surviving are three grandsons, Steve, Tommy and Grant Haycraft; two granddaughters, Laura Baxter and Grace Haycraft; and six great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held Sunday, January 14, 2007 at the McGrew Church.

Burial was in the McGrew Church Cemetery.

Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Western Kentucky Veteran's Center.
