Kentucky State Police reported passenger David Thompson, 81, of Cub Run, was pronounced dead at Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center following the accident.
The driver, Gary T. Logsdon, 53, also of Cub Run, was transported to Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center and later flown to University of Louisville Hospital by LifeNet. His injuries were listed as “serious” in the police report.
According to investigating officer Trooper Norman Chaffins, Logsdon was traveling west on Grayson Springs Road (Hwy. 1214), and failed to stop at a stop sign at the intersection. His 1986 Chevrolet passenger car was struck by Robert P. Stiles, 69, of Leitchfield. Stiles was traveling north on the William H. Thomason Byway, when his 2005 Ford truck hit the Chevrolet on the driver's side, causing the vehicle to spin and come to a final rest in a grass ditch.
Stiles was also transported to Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center with serious injuries by Grayson county EMS. The accident occurred at 3 p.m.
