Shop drawings were approved at Monday's meeting of the commission, and a progress meeting is scheduled for December 5, 2006.
Mayor James Paul Embry, stated, “I feel real good about this project. It's moving right along.”
Embry signed authorization, using money from the general fund, to pay off the Industrial Development loan and any interest and taxes that were owed on the property.
A water leak will be repaired that has caused water to run across Hwy. 62, in front of the hardware store. It was decided the the damaged asphalt on the road under the caution light also will be repaired.
New tires will be purchased for the fire department's mini-pumper as well as the water and waste water truck. The cost to the city will be about $775.
A grant from Bowling Green Police Department will be turned down because the city does not have the technology to support what the grant money is designed for . It would also cost the city $8,000 to purchase the extra equipment; The grant is under $2000.
Commissioners voted to do the necessary repairs on the fire department's rescue truck. Both head gaskets will be replaced at a cost of $650 to the city.
Commissioners discussed teams not paying the fee to use the softball field and the field not being cleaned up after use. The problem was tabled for a future meeting.
The commission indicated they plan to move their meeting time from 7 to 6 p.m., probably in January.
And the Caneyville Tree Lighting will be at 6 p.m. Friday, December 1. The city will provide refreshments the night of the ceremony.
