Three people were flown to hospitals in Louisville late Friday (11/3) after a one-car crash on Owensboro Road.
Kentucky State Police reported Richard Bailey, 38, of Caneyville, was driving west on U.S. 62 (Beaver Dam Road), when his vehicle left the roadway for unknown reasons.
Trooper Charlie Miller said Bailey's vehicle traveled about 340 feet, sideswiped a telephone pole and struck a tree head-on before coming to a stop.
A passenger in the car, Richard Bailey, Jr. 17, of Caneyville, was taken by ambulance to Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center, then released. However, John Bailey, 16, of Caneyville, was flown to University Hospital in Louisville. Richard, Sr. was also flown to the same hospital.
A fourth passenger, Dakota Bailey, 12, of Caneyville, also was injured and flown to Kosair Childrens Hospital in Louisville.
Trooper Miller said the injuries appeared to be serious. He said the accident, in the 9500 block of Owensboro Road, occurred at 6:30 p.m. Investigation of the accident is continuing.
Assisting Miller during the initial investigation was the Caneyville Fire Department, Caneyville Police Department, Grayson County Sheriff's Office and the Grayson County EMS.
