“He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He never met a stranger and had a servant's heart and hands. His sweet character and sense of humor endeared him to all who knew him.”
He is survived by his loving wife of 69 years, Mortimer B. Meyers Stone; one daughter, Peggy (Bob) Pence; two sons, Paul (Maggie) and Joe Metcalfe (Fay); 10 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, and 15 great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Saturday, August 26, 2006 at Watkins-Oller Funeral Home.
Burial was in the Leitchfield Memory Gardens.
