Playing at the Lafayette Golf Course Monday afternoon, the Cougar golfers dropped a pair of matches to visiting John Hardin High School.

The Lady Cougars lost their first match of the season 183-207, dropping them to 4-1 on the year. The boys fell to 2-3 on the season with a 169-183 loss.

Sophomore Tessa Nelson was the low medalist for the Lady Cougars, showing major improvement from last season. Nelson shot a 46 on the tough Falls of Rough course. Senior Beth Schultz was next for Grayson County at 48, followed by junior Devon Dunn at 55 and eighth-grader Paige Higdon at 58.

Junior Blake Collins had the low round of the day for the Cougar boys, shooting a 43. Senior Kyle Skaggs was just a shot back, at 44, while freshman Brad Alexander and sophomore Ethan Johnson came in with identical rounds of 48.

The Cougar golf teams will be on the road this Thursday afternoon, traveling to the Ohio County Country Club for a match against the Eagles.
