According to Trooper Seth Payne with the Kentucky State Police, a vehicle being driven by William Lee, of Leitchfield, was traveling along Highway 54 when his vehicle ran off the right shoulder of the roadway and struck a utility pole.
The accident, Payne said, occurred just east of Short Creek.
According to Payne, after Lee was freed from the vehicle, he was transported to Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center, where he was treated for injuries sustained in the crash.
Payne also said Lee was charged with DUI, 1st offense.
In addition to the KSP and Grayson County EMS, the Leitchfield Fire Department also responded to the scene of Saturday night's accident, which occurred just after 9:3o p.m.
And the Grayson County Sheriff's Department worked two separate injury accidents over the weekend that sent a total of three people to the hospital.
According to the Sheriff's Department, on Saturday afternoon (June 24) a vehicle being driven by 17-year-old Ryan Wilbanks, of 341 Joe Carroll Road, Leitchfield, was traveling west on Highway 187 when the vehicle, a 1991 Nissan Pathfinder, ran off the right shoulder of the roadway and traveled just over 260 feet before striking a telephone pole.
The Sheriff's Department report stated that Wilbanks' vehicle then traveled just over 41 feet before coming back onto the road, and traveled nearly 60 feet across the road before coming to rest in a ditch.
The telephone pole was reportedly snapped in half and the vehicle sustained severe damage.
Wilbanks was transported by the Grayson County EMS to Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center for treatment of his injuries.
The Leitchfield Fire Department also responded to the scene of the accident, according to E-911 dispatchers.
The accident occurred just before 6 p.m.
On Sunday night (June 25) a one vehicle accident resulted in a trip to the hospital for two people.
The Sheriff's Department reported that shortly after 9 p.m. a 2006 Chrysler 300M driven by Norris M. Cotton, 59, of 599 Bear Creek Road, Leitchfield, was traveling west on Bear Creek Road when a deer ran out in front of the vehicle.
Cotton reportedly swerved to miss the deer and struck a tree with the passenger side of the vehicle.
The front passenger's side tire then blew out and the vehicle traveled approximately 75 feet, striking another tree head-on.
Norris and a passenger, Ivan T. Palmquist, 23, of 3768 Bloomington Road, Leitchfield, were transported to Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center for treatment of their injuries.
