A Leitchfield man was taken to the hospital early Monday morning (June 12) after a one- vehicle accident.

According to the Grayson County Sheriff's Department, the accident occurred around 4 a.m. on Kiper Road.

A Sheriff's Department report stated that Thomas M. White, 39, of 1033 Mercer Bend Road, Leitchfield, was traveling east on Kiper Road when a deer reportedly ran out in front of his 1999 Ford F350 pick-up truck.

When White avoided the deer, he struck a tree, according to the Sheriff's Department.

White was taken to Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center by a private vehicle for treatment of his injuries.
