L'field man charged in assault; ‘Attempted murder' of 22-year-old's grandmother

A Leitchfield man is facing charges of attempted murder, theft and terroristic threatening after being indicted by a Grayson County Grand Jury on Tuesday (June 6).

Bryce D. Clark, 22, of 115 Twin Oaks Road, Leitchfield, was indicted Tuesday for allegedly attempting to kill his grandmother, Martina Clark, in April of 2006.

(An indictment is an accusation only; it indicates enough evidence exists to bring the case to trial for final judgement.)

The indictment alleges that in April of this year Clark committed the crime of attempt to commit murder when he allegedly “choked Martina Clark around the neck with his hands and/or placed a piece of clothing around her neck to strangle her and/or held a pillow over her head to smother her.”

In addition to the attempted murder charge, Clark was also indicted on a charge of robbery in the 1st degree for the alleged theft of property from Martina Clark. The indictment stated that Clark allegedly used “physical force and caused injury to her” during the robbery, which also occurred in April.
