A Brownsville man was flown to a Louisville hospital Sunday (Apr. 30) after a two-vehicle accident on U.S. 62, just across from Bratcher's Flea Market.
According to Lieutenant Don Burkhead with the Leitchfield Police Department, a vehicle being driven by 52-year-old Sherman Peger, of Indian Creek Road, Brownsville, was traveling east on 62 when he reportedly failed to see a vehicle in front of him that was stopped in traffic.
As a result, Burkhead said that Peger rear-ended a vehicle being driven by Charles D. Scheroan, 31, of Custer.
Burkhead reported that Scheroan was uninjured as a result of the accident.
However, he said that Peger, and a passenger, Patricia Thompson, also of the same address as Peger, were transported to Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center for treatment of their injuries.
Thompson was treated and released.
After being examined more closely, Burkhead reported that Peger was later found to have a serious neck injury, and as a result, was flown by Life Net Air Transport to University Hospital in Louisville.
The accident occurred around 4 p.m.
