At a special-called meeting of the Clarkson City Commission Monday (Apr. 3), commissioners again discussed the location of the new playground.

After agreeing it would be a better location, the commission approved of a plan to place the new children's playground in the area of the old entrance to the park.

At Monday's meeting, Jackie Marshall, widow of the late Clarkson pharmacist Mike Marshall, said that on behalf of herself and her children, she wanted to go on the record and thank the commission and the City of Clarkson for all the help they have given her and for the opportunity to do a project like this at Clarkson's park.

Most of a $35,800 donation--a memorial fund to the late Mike Marshall, has already been spent on a variety of new playground equipment.

Marshall said that April 29 is the target date for assembling the playground equipment at the park.

In other action, the commission went into a lengthy executive session to discuss personnel. No action was taken as a result of that session, Mayor Bonnie Henderson reported.
