A 17-year-old Hardin County girl was flown to a Louisville hospital and two Grayson County residents were transported to an Elizabethtown hospital Thursday morning (Feb. 16) after a two-vehicle accident in Hardin County.

According to the Kentucky State Police, a vehicle being driven by Rebecca Bohannon, 17, of Cecilia, was traveling east on Ky. 86 (about six miles west of Cecilia) when her vehicle dropped off the right shoulder of the road.

The KSP reported that when Bohannon tried to steer back onto the roadway, she overcorrected, coming across the opposite lane, where she struck a westbound vehicle being driven by Melinda Mattingly, 27, of Clarkson, in the side.

As a result of the accident, which occurred about 7:30 a.m., Bohannon was flown by helicopter to University Hospital in Louisville with more serious injuries, while Mattingly and a passenger, 8-year-old Dillon Logsdon, were transported to Hardin Memorial Hospital for treatment of their injuries.
