She was born June 13, 1924 in Ohio County, the daughter of Roy and Lillie Haynes Pierce.
She is survived by her husband, Ivan Cockerel of Caneyville; one son, Madrain Cockerel of Caneyville; one daughter, Martina Gibson of Bowling Green, Ky.; two brothers, Bro. Wavie J. Pierce of Caneyville and James Harrison Pierce of Louisville, Ky.; and one sister, Leona Geary of Louisville. Also surviving are five grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Thursday, November 10, 2005 at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Caneyville with Bro. Wavie Pierce officiating.
Burial was in the Upper Smith Cemetery.
