He was a veteran of the Vietnam war, serving two tours of duty; and a member of Leitchfield Church of God of Prophecy.
He is survived by his wife, Brenda Decker Elmore of Leitchfield; two daughters, Tracy Nelson of Leitchfield and Stephanie Vincent of Leitchfield; one step-son, Aaron Decker of Leitchfield; one step-daughter, Shannon Neff of Leitchfield; and one brother, Dwight Elmore of Leitchfield. Also surviving are three grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James Thomas and Cecil Marie Elmore.
Funeral services were held Saturday, August 6, 2005 at Leitchfield Church of God of Prophecy with Bro. Billy Mason officiating.
Burial was in the Mulberry Flats Cemetery.
