According to Steve Pavey with the Kentucky State Police, Mallory Dublin, 19, was traveling west on the WK Parkway (past Caneyville at around the 92 mile marker) sometime early Monday morning when she apparently lost control of her vehicle, ran off the roadway and down a ravine, finally coming to rest in a wooded area.
Pavey said that Dublin was knocked out as a result of the crash and became trapped in her vehicle, which could not be seen by emergency crews from the road.
However, Pavey said that Dublin regained consciousness and was able to call 911 on her cell phone, allowing KSP Troopers to locate Dublin's vehicle in the wooded area.
Pavey also reported that Dublin was flown directly from the scene by Stat Care to the Medical Center in Bowling Green after being cut out of the vehicle with the jaws of life by the Caneyville and Leitchfield Fire Departments.
S he reportedly suffered head and back injuries.
Pavey said high winds Monday made it impossible to transport Dublin to Vanderbilt University Hospital in Nashville.
Emergency personnel with the Grayson County EMS, Grayson County Sheriff's Department and Kentucky Vehicle Enforcement were also on the scene.
