The city is in line to receive $31,900 from the fuel tax, which it will use for maintenance and repairs on the city's streets and sidewalks.
Just over $425 will be coming to the city from Local Government Emergency Assistance funds. Commissioners decided to use this money to pay for gravel on the parking lots at City Park.
In another budget-related matter, the commission approved spending a state grant of $5,850 on codifying all the city's ordinance.
The grant, from the Kentucky Department of Libraries and Archives, will let the city bind all its ordinances in one book and keep the book updated, as required by law.
Clarkson reported through the commission that it has worked out a trade with Leitchfield to get mosquito spraying started in the city.
Leitchfield has agreed to spray in Clarkson whenever the Leitchfield spray trucks are out. In return, Clarkson will donate a cardboard compactor to the Leitchfield Recycling Center.
Commissioner Red Helm said residents had been asking whether or not the Clarkson Fire Department would burn old outbuildings around private residences.
But Fire Chief Andy Cain said the department couldn't do that. He said the owners could burn the buildings themselves and if there is a problem, the fire department will come out.
Helm also discussed complaints he had received about people parking too close to the concession stands at City Park. He said it might be necessary to put in posts around the building.
No decision was reached at Tuesday's meeting.
