Winford Ray "Toots" Mudd, age 71, of Caneyville, Ky., died Wednesday, April 20, 2005 at the Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center in Leitchfield.

He was born January 12, 1934 in Grayson County, the son of Estill and Edna Higdon Mudd.

He was a farmer and was a member of the Rabbit Flat Church.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara Hermes Mudd; four sons, Timothy, Mark and Michael, all of Caneyville, Ky. and Shawn Mudd of Leitchfield; one daughter, Cathy Mode of Caneyville; a special boy, Robert Hall; five brothers, Orville and Russell, both of Leitchfield, Robert, Gerald and Charles Mudd, all of Caneyville; and one sister, Winnie Jennett of Elizabethtown, Ky. Also surviving are 13 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by three brothers and one sister.

Funeral services were held Saturday, April 23, 2005 at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Caneyville with Rev. Jerry Weedman officiating.

Burial was in the Wilson Cemetery.
