On Tuesday (Mar. 15) The Greater Hardin County Narcotics Task Force, acting on a tip they received from a "concerned citizen," according to a Leitchfield Police Department press release, discovered and seized the alleged meth lab.
According to the press release, the person who gave police the tip decided to alert the authorities after "he found items that he thought were very suspicious."
Law enforcement found several items that are used in the manufacturing of meth, and they also confiscated 86 grams of the finished product.
The estimated street value of the methamphetamine is around $8,600.
Police have made no arrests in the case and they have not released the exact location of the lab.
At this point in the investigation they are only saying that the lab was "found in eastern Grayson County."
Although they couldn't comment in much detail on the case Monday (Mar. 21) a member of the Narcotics Task Force said that " in my three years here we have never confiscated that much finished product before."
He also said that it was the most weight ever confiscated in Grayson County in one location.
The Hardin County Narcotics Task Force is still investigating the lab and say that "arrests could follow."
Due to the ongoing investigation, the location and the name of the caller are being withheld to avoid "impeding the investigation in any way."
