Deputies with the Grayson County Sheriff's Department and members of the Caneyville Fire Department responded to the first fire at an abandoned trailer around 8:45 a.m.
According to Avery Flener with the Caneyville Fire Department, firefighters "spent nearly an hour on the scene" putting out the early morning blaze.
They were called back, however, to that same Ready Road address later that afternoon around 4:45 p.m. for a barn fire.
According to E-911 Dispatchers firefighters were on the scene for two and a half hours before they contained the second fire.
Detective Terry Scott with the Kentucky State Police is investigating the two fires as a possible case of arson but could only say on Monday (Mar. 7) that the fires remain "under investigation."
He also said that police "do not have any suspects at this time and any information involving the fires would be helpful and appreciated."
Both the trailer and barn were reported as "total losses."
Flener said that the residence at which the two fires occurred belongs to Harlos Embry, of 472 Ready Road in Caneyville.
