John Thomas Mudd, age 66, of Caneyville, Ky., died on Saturday, June 12, 2004 at the Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center.

He was born in Grayson County January 7, 1938 as the son of Roy and Mertie Elder Mudd. He was a member of the Pleasant Union United Baptist Church.

He is survived by three sons, John Thomas Mudd Jr., Daniel Ray Mudd and Dewayne Young, all of Leitchfield; three brothers, Roy Mudd Jr. and Louis Mudd, both of Caneyville, Ky., and Charles Mudd of Louisville, Ky.; two sisters, Lorena Armes and Kathleen Embry, both of Caneyville. Also surviving are four grandchildren, Daniel Dakot Mudd and John Thomas Mudd III, and Riley and Jacob Mudd; one special friend, Gail; and one special niece, Pam.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Margarie Mudd and Louise Hack; and one brother, Elbert Mudd.

Funeral services were held on Monday, June 14, 2004 at the Pleasant Union United Baptist Church with Rev. Pirtle Cummings officiating.

Burial was in the Wilson Cemetery.

Dermitt Funeral Home in Caneyville was in charge of the arrangements.
