The Datebook is a free service to community groups and organizations for event announcements. However, if you have an event where there is a charge listed, there will be a $5.00 flat fee for each time the announcement runs. No beauty pageants or yard sales will be listed. In order to observe the Memorial Day Holiday, garbage and recycling routes, which would normally be collected on Mon., May 31, will be collected on Tues., June 1. Tuesday's routes will also be collected on Tuesday. Garbage and recycling should be set out early on Tuesday morning.

Veterans Counseling and Assistance

The Kentucky Department of Veterans Affairs will be at the Grayson County Library the 2nd Thursday of each month from 9 a.m.-12 p.m. All veterans who need help filing a claim and other VA documents, stop by. There are many benefits available to veterans and their families. VA Transportation

The American Legion Post 81 is supplying transportation to the VAMC in Louisville and to Fort Knox Ireland Army Hospital. The van will run as needed to Louisville, and will run to Fort Knox on the first and third Friday of the month only. This is a free service for veterans. Teen Council
