The deadline for registering teams for the 2004 Relay for Life is May 4.
The American Cancer Society's Relay is the nation's largest fund raiser.
It is a non-competitive, overnight event, and teams are recruited from businesses, clubs, families, friends, hospitals, churches, schools and service organizations.
Each group comes up with a team theme, and members take turns walking or running around a track at Grayson County High School during the night.
"Were inviting everyone in the community to be a part of Relay for Life," said Lois Mattingly, Grayson County team recruitment chair. "Where else can you show your enthusiasm for such an important cause by creating outrageous team themes, decorating campsites ad playing games all night long?"
Money raised from the event supports American Cancer society research, education, advocacy and patient services programs, she said.
To register a team or find out more about Relay for Life, call Lois Mattingly at 259-4584 or Pearlie Mae York at 242-7278.
