It turned out to be one of those days for a Nolin Estates resident.

The Wax Fire Department and the Grayson County Sheriff's Office got a call Friday about a car fire at Hwy 479 and Pearman Road, not far from Nolin's Dismal Rock.

When Deputies Tony Willen and Rick Bailey arrived, they found a burning car, but no driver.

Witnesses said the driver had fled, but deputies found Gregory L. Cunningham, 41, 434 Nolin Estates, with a burned hand in a nearby field.

He was charged with driving under the influence, operating on a suspended license, no insurance and improper registration, Willin reported.

"When we checked the NCIC computer," he said, "we found Cunningham was wanted in Indiana for non-support, $36,000 behind."

After treatment at Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center's emergency room, Cunningham was taken to the Grayson County Detention Center, Willen said.
