According to a report from Kentucky Utilities, humidity will help you feel warmer without turning up the thermostat.

The difference may only be a few degrees but it can also prevent your body from drying out.

Many people suffer from dry skin in the winter or a scratchy throat. Humidity can ease the roughness and dryness.

The easiest way to introduce humidity in your home is with a humidifier. The small appliances can be found in most home stores and department stores.

However, humidity can also be added to the air in your home by hanging up damp towels or clothing. Also allowing the steam to escape into the house after showering will add moisture to the air.

Setting bowls of water beside heating sources can add humidity to the air of your home.
